Absolute Power
Why we study it: Students must understand that in times of uncertainty and instability people often tend to give up freedoms for security which ultimately leads to unquestioned power. Absolute power in itself corrupts absolutely and people must be wary of instances in which personal freedoms are relinquished. We study it to identify patterns of how power is gained, held, and ultimately lost.
